Nia Jax vs Sasha Banks (Royal Rumble Rematch)

Back from the break and out comes Sasha Banks. Nia Jax is out next.

Sasha starts off with a series of dropkicks. Nia goes for a Samoan Drop but Sasha counters into an attempted roll up. Nia throws her in the corner but hits the ring post shoulder first as Sasha moves. Nia ends up on the floor. Sasha kicks her and stops her from re-entering. Sasha with a baseball slide but Nia catches her. Nia grab and sling Sasha’s knee into the ring post with a full nelson twice. Nia rolls her back into the ring and laughs.

Sasha kicks Nia away while on her back. Nia with a kick to the injured knee and drops down on Sasha’s back before wrapping her leg up. The bell rings but the referee looks surprised, as does Nia.

The referee appears to say something to the timekeeper but Nia won’t break the hold. She finally breaks it and the ref checks on Sasha. Nia goes after her again with another submission. Bayley runs down for the save but keeps her distance. Nia breaks the hold and stares at Bayley. Bayley checks on Sasha as Nia leaves the ring.

Nia Jax vs Sasha Banks

We go to the ring and out comes Sasha Banks first. We get look back at Sasha’s attacks by Nia. Nia Jax is out next.

Nia immediately scopes Sasha up into the corner. Sasha with chest slaps to Nia before getting taken down. Nia tosses Sasha across the ring and then runs her over with a body splash. Nia stands tall as we take another break.

Back from the break and Nia fights off a Banks Statement before going to work on Sasha’s injured knee. Sasha attempts kick Nia but gets caught and takes chop to the knee. Sasha try to fight back. Nia runs at Sasha in the corner but hits the ring post. Sasha comes off the top with knees and cover but Nia kicks out at 2. Sasha with forearms but Nia ends up catching Sasha in a pop-up Samoan Drop for the win.

After the match, Nia stands tall as we go to replays.

She is the hardest woman in wrestling: Nia Jax. In the Megaevent “WWE Royal Rumble”, the cousin of Actionstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson meets the former title holder Sasha Banks. In the interview, Nia Jax tells why she is a rather unusual show-fighter and which (evil) German word she likes best.

Nia Jax, you are Samoan, but your mother Renate comes from Germany. What is typical of you German?

Nia Jax: I am stubborn, very disciplined in any case and working hard. And I have definitely got the great personality inherited from my mother. Also in my eyes one sees totally that I have German roots.

Nia Jax: (In German) A bit of German.

Do you have a favorite German word?

Nia Jax: Oh, but this is not a nice word. An evil word.

How strong are your connections to Germany?

Nia Jax: During our last tour in Europe we were in Germany. I had never been there before. My mother and my older brother came along. We still have a family in Munich. We saw them for the first time in our lives, before only in pictures. We had talked only once on the phone. And for her it was the first WWE-Liveshow. It was really cool.

Then to the wrestling: You are bigger, heavier and stronger than your opponents at the TV shows “RAW” and “NXT”, but you have never won a title. Why?

Nia Jax: Definitely, I am all that. For a title but I am not yet mature. When I get so far, I’ll target her and get her. Trust me. I do not worry about that.

Now you are in a feud with Sasha Banks. The title is currently held by Charlotte Flair …

Nia Jax: Sasha Banks puts such an arrogance into the day, calling herself “The Boss”. It just get on my nerves. She is definitely not my boss. On Charlotte, I have it as well. But not yet.

What do you think of the idea of ​​a “Royal Rumble” for women?

Nia Jax: That would be great. The women’s division has never been as athletic and good as today. Many have been raised by “NXT” and are arriving well. It would really be an event if you could see us all together at the “Royal Rumble” in the ring.

When you think of wrestlers, you have athletic models in mind. Is it a disadvantage to you that you do not correspond to this stereotype?

Nia Jax: Not at all. On the contrary: I have an advantage because I am unique. True, most wrestlers are pretty and in a great condition, but not every woman is like that. There are certainly a lot of German women who can identify with larger and wider women in the ring. And on me they see that it works just as well as with the other wrestlers.

How many kilos do you actually lift?

Nia Jax: That depends on what I do. With knee bends, it is about 135 kilos, while the cross-raising I manage loose 180 kilos. I have been very strong since my young age. Thanks to my Samoan-German origin, this is also clear.

Nia Jax vs. Ray Lyn

Back from the break and out comes Nia Jax as we get a look back at last week’s attack on Sasha Banks. Ray Lyn waits in the ring. The bell rings and Nia floors Lyn, backing her into the corner. Nia with headbutts before tossing Lyn into the corner again. Body splash to Lyn. Nia climbs the second rope and sit out drop to Lyn for the win.

After the match, Charly tries to interview Nia in the ring but she snatches the mic. Nia dedicates the win to the recently-deceased career of Sasha Banks. Nia says Sasha was RAW Women’s Champion one month ago but now she’s forgotten. She says that actually makes for good TV and ESPN should do a “30 For 30” on her but nobody would watch because it would be too tragic. Now that she’s broken The Boss, she’s… the music interrupts and out comes Banks with a crutch and knee brace. Sasha fights into the ring with the crutch and unloads on Nia with it. Nia ends up on the outside after a sidestep and a Meteora from Sasha. Sasha smiles and makes her exit as an angry Nia looks on.

Nia Jax may have “broken The Boss,” but Sasha Banks won’t stay shattered for long as the two are set to clash on the special two-hour Royal Rumble Kickoff, this Sunday on WWE Network.

Looking to assert her supremacy in the teeming Women’s division of the New Era, Nia singled Sasha out as easy pickings following The Boss’ brutal defeat at the hands of Charlotte Flair in a WWE Iron Man Match in December. Ever since then it’s been relentless punishment at the hands of the mighty Superstar, with Sasha unable to keep her legs under her long enough (literally) to mount a challenge.

However, everyone knows that Sasha refuses to stay down for very long, even with seemingly insurmountable odds against her. And now that Banks has a date with her tormentor, perhaps The Boss will find her footing and leave Jax in the dust. We get a flashback to last week after Bayley became the #1 contender. Bayley and Sasha Banks are backstage now. Bayley gets hype about her title shot at the Royal Rumble. She’s defeated Charlotte before and can do it again. Sasha believes in her too. Sasha brings up another Bayley vs. Boss match after the Royal Rumble. Sasha says she has Bayley’s back if Charlotte tries any tricks. Charlotte walks up and applauds Sasha for her performance, acting like she cares about Bayley. They have words until Nia Jax appears. She kicks Sasha’s leg out and Bayley gets beat down by Charlotte when she tries to make the save. Nia continues her beat down on Sasha. Charlotte stands with Nia but Nia grabs her and pushes her back into a stack of production cases. Charlotte is shocked as Nia walks off.

We go to the ring and out first comes Bayley. Sasha Banks is out next with her knee wrapped up. Nia Jax is out first for her team and Charlotte is out next.

Sasha starts off with Charlotte. Charlotte with an early Figure Four attempt. Sasha unloads and sends Charlotte to the corner into Nia. Sasha slaps Nia and in she comes but the referee gets in between the two teams. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Sasha has Charlotte in the corner. Sasha’s leg goes out. Bayley tags in and unloads on Charlotte. Bayley misses in the corner and gets knocks down by a boot for a 2 count. Charlotte slams Bayley’s head into the turnbuckle a few times. Nia comes in and launches Bayley into the turnbuckle. Nia with a splash to Bayley in the corner and tosses her across the ring. Nia holds Bayley as Charlotte tags in and hits her. Charlotte covers for a 2 count. Charlotte keeps control and has Bayley grounded. Charlotte with a 2 count. Nia tags in and slams Bayley in the middle of the ring. Nia knocks Sasha off the apron. Nia drags Bayley over and tags in Charlotte for more double teaming. Bayley fights back and rolls Charlotte up but didn’t see Nia tag in. Nia runs Bayley over and hits her with a leg drop for the win.

After the match, Nia stands over Bayley as Charlotte comes in to have her hand raised. Sasha is down on the floor as we go to replays. Charlotte taunts Bayley with the title before leaving.
